Iguazu Falls travel tips
You might prefer to see a wide angle picture of Iguazu Falls.
Known locally as the foz de Iguazu, these waterfalls on the border of Brazil and Argentina are one of the natural wonders of the world.
More than 60,000 cubic meters of water pass over the many waterfall edges every second, the highest fall tumbling 72 metres.
Iguazu Falls has 320 separate cascades over a 2,700 metre stretch of river, dependent upon the seasonal depth of the water.
A majority of the waterfalls are within the Argentina border but they are best seen and explored from both sides.
A grander view of the falls is offered on the Brazil side but a more intimate experience awaits you on the Argentina side.
To fully experience your Iguazu Falls tour, set aside at least two full days.
Travellers can enjoy boat trips both at the top of Iguazu Falls and at the bottom of the waterfalls.
