Mt SinaiMt Sinai in Egypt offers a journey you'll never forget. Also known as Mt Moses, this mountain in the heart of the Sinai Desert in Egypt is believed to be where Moses climbed to receive the 10 Commandments from God. You can take a backpack trip without a guide to a tiny plateau atop Mt Sinai and sleep overnight, and there are few places on earth more suitable to be alone with your God. There is a small mosque and a church at the top of Mt Sinai and about halfway through your half-day trip you'll pass a tablet beside the path bearing the Holy scripture, pictured below. |
